The pledge
In Pursuit of Perfect Peace
My voice shall greet the petrol attendant, the cashier, the waiter, the security officer at the gate, the receptionist at the front desk.
My voice shall greet them with a smile, ask them how they are doing.
My voice shall thank them and wish them a lovely day.
My voice shall invite good service,
This is my pledge, in pursuit of peace.
My voice shall be polite and objective when expressing opinion and concern.
My voice shall not engage in emotive arguments.
My voice shall not utter insulting or derogatory words.
This is my pledge, in pursuit of peace.
My voice shall not heed the noise in my heart nor the voice in my mind
For the heart is never in synch with the mind.
The heart seeks to satisfy desires
The mind seeks to understand business.
I shall listen to the voice deep-rooted in my soul
The voice of reason
The voice of wisdom
The voice that tames desires of the heart
The voice that brings peace that surpasses all understanding in the midst of arguments, conflict, doubt, anger, fear.
I shall listen to the voice of God
This is my pledge, in pursuit of peace, perfect peace.
