Refuge Adama
Adama has become a refuge for more than 25,000 internally displaced persons. The city is a regional economic and commercial center in Oromia, but the infrastructure there is overburdened by the large influx. There is too little housing, insufficient water and sanitation, and, most importantly, too few employment opportunities. It is particularly difficult for women and young adults to support themselves. ELM supports a project in Adama for exactly this target group.
